Examination process
For the examination, we will ask you to:
- Put on a hospital gown and remove your jewelry, along with any metal objects that could affect image quality.
- Lie comfortably on the examination table, so that the technologist can administer a contrast agent such as gadolinium, if required. This agent, injected into the crook of your elbow, allows us to acquire more precise images.
- Remain still for 60 minutes. During this time, the technologist may ask you to hold your breath a few times.
If you wish, you can wear earplugs or headphones. The MRI machine makes a percussion-like noise, which may be unpleasant to some people.
The total time of your visit can vary between 60 and 90 minutes.
Our technologist, who can see and hear you at all times, will make sure you are comfortable and feeling well throughout the examination.
